Greetings, Dr. Elvira de Mejia is an Associate Professor of Food Chemistry and Food Toxicology at the University of Illinois. She has long studied the health benefits of tea, in particular the molecular mechanisms underlying the biological effects of ethnic teas used in folk medicine to combat several disorders including cancer. Dr. de Mejia is also author and lead contributor to A Comprehensive Review of Yerba Mate, one of the most, well, *comprehensive* looks at this wonderful plant from a scientific standpoint. Her latest research involving energy drinks has been recently published in Comprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety. The research speaks specifically to yerba mate and other tea-based energy drinks in comparison to non-tea-based products on the market, such as Red Bull™. Below, you'll find: 1. a few interesting charts from the article, 2. a yerba mate specific assessment of the article from Natural Products Marketplace, as well as a 3. direct link to an html version of the actual published article in the journal.
June Special: Due to technical problems with our tea bag machine, we have dropped our price on all one-pound bags of loose blends to $13.95. This includes our Summer Cool Blends! Our Organic Pure Leaf yerba mate is blended with various herbs and spices to create the following spectacular products: One other special that we are going to blow out is our 6-gram and 12 gram bulk tea bags. These only come in plain yerba mate, no blends. Great for making sun tea, or just brewing them in your brewer. These we will sell a 50-count bag of the 12-gram bags for $9.00 & a 50-count bag of 6gram bags for $6.00. Let's start this summer out with some refreshing iced yerba mate.
Aviva + Stevia + Spearmint = Hmmmmm...Good!
