Greetings and Happy New Year!
Some of you may wonder what the difference is between our matelatte mixes vs our regular brewing mates. Our matelatte mixes use the same high quality wild harvest base; however, we mill the product finer to be use in espresso machines for a more concentrated shot. This is much like espresso shots.
More than a decade ago, I invented our 3 blends we currently offer - Regular, Bengal Chai (our chai blend with increased ginger, chai spices) and our Shaman mix (lavender buds mixed in). All of these make wonderful drinks, especially for the winter or cooler months. Whether you're coming in from a day of skiing or skating, or simply coming in from the cold and need a pick me up, you can enjoy a great beverage that not only tastes superb, but also makes you feel great and YES is actually good for you! All these products were created to be used with an espresso machine. However, if you do not have one, you can simply use a french press to make a more concentrated shot.
If Using an Espresso Machine: (using any of our matelatte mixes: traditional, bengal chai, shaman)
Fill your porta filter up 3/4 ( do not tamp) this leaves room for the yerba to expand ( you can use a single or double porta filter)
If Using a French Press: (btw, the 8-cup is 20% off this month too!)
Measure 2-4 tablespoons of matelatte mix ( any flavor) to make 4 cups ( you can use more if you want a more concentrated shot) . You will be using 2 oz of mate liquid to make your drink
